as a partner in china’s urbanization, cushman & wakefield has provided comprehensive professional services for the development of cities. and as a responsible social citizen, we are aware of the social challenges that arise during the process of urbanization, including the issues faced by children that accompany migrant workers. in 2016, we joined hands with netspring, a charity organization, to launch the “plan to care for children of migrant workers” to provide help and care for such children through donations and volunteer services. the first pilot programs under this plan have been kicked off at the fuxing elementary school in haiwan town of shanghai's fengxian district, the beijing tuanhe experimental school and the chengdu yuren experimental school, garnering positive feedback from students and teachers at these schools.

shanghai
in early april, the shanghai office donated 20 computers to fuxing elementary school, a school for the children of migrants in fengxian district. on april 22, mimie lau, managing director, east china and dozens of staff volunteers visited the school to attend the kick-off ceremony for this initiative and the first computer training session for the kids.
beijing
on youth day (may 4), volunteers from the beijing office visited the tuanhe school in daxing district and donated dozens of laptops for the cushman & wakefield classroom. the donation was followed by themed handicraft and computer classes for the migrants’ children, supporting more migrants’ children and helping them adapt to urban life with more exposure to society.
chengdu
on june 3 2016, edward cheung, chairman, asia pacific board | chief executive, greater china together with dozens of volunteers from our chengdu office, visited the chengdu yuren experimental school to participate in the inauguration ceremony, followed by interactive activities themed “building my dream city” with the students. many children have expressed that they would study hard and try to build chengdu into the “dream city” when they grow up, just as their mothers and fathers are doing. parents of students have entrusted the schoolmaster fei meng to present a plaque to our company to express their gratitude.
